Two suspects are being sought in connection with the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Lynnwood, Washington. Police released surveillance video of the suspects and are asking the public for help in identifying them.

The Lynnwood Police Department (LPD) released surveillance video of possible suspects who shot and killed one boy and wounded another. The shooting happened in the 19700 block of 68th Ave. W, near the Somerset Village Apartments. Police were called to the scene around 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024. Officers arrived to find a 14-year-old boy dead in the parking lot and a second boy who was hurt nearby.

KOMO News spoke with the surviving victim who had injuries to his fingers from where the bullets apparently grazed him. He said the suspects were wearing ski masks and targeted the victims, apparently trying to fight them. Investigators obtained video of two younger males running north on 68th Ave. W, crossing 196th Street SW at around 8:18 p.m. Anyone who lives in that area is asked to check their security footage from that evening for any suspicious activity. The first suspect is described as a younger male wearing blue jeans, a black top, white had, and orange backpack and white shoes. The second suspect, also a younger male, was wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt with printing on the front and back, a ski mask and white shoes.
