'It's not safe for the kids': Plans for a sober living home in Lynn, Massachusetts, are being met with opposition from parents of students at a nearby elementary school.
"I understand the need for the sober home, and appreciate the work they do, but I worry about my 5-year-old granddaughter," she said.Lynn City Council President Jay Walsh says concerns from parents prompted the council to vote Tuesday to send a letter asking the Archdiocese of Boston to delay the building's sale until more questions are answered.
Parents received a letter last month announcing the sale to Chelsea's House, which runs several recovery centers, saying the building will be made into housing for more than two dozen women. The school says that mission is consistent with that of the church.
