A Lyft driver is seeking dismissal of all claims in a lawsuit filed by a passenger who leaped from the window of his car just before he crashed during a ride from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills in 2021. The driver was unconscious due to a diabetic emergency at the time, he claims. A Lyft Inc.

“The sole alleged nature of his negligence was his failure to deliver her safely to her destination,” Cooper’s attorneys further state in their pleadings. The driver returned 15 to 20 minutes later and asked Finci, “Are you ready for the ride?” according to the suit. According to Cooper’s lawyers’ court papers, the driver bought some Red Bull drinks at the 7-Eleven to alleviate his low blood-sugar sensations and remembers nothing after that until he saw police and emergency workers tending to him.
