MANILA — Residents of Luzon are mostly "concerned for others" amid the ongoing enhanced community quarantine that has forced people stay inside their homes to control the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 .
The survey, initiated by Radio Veritas and was conducted from March 15 to April 15, asked 1,200 respondents about their "emotional disposition" while being under the government-imposed home quarantine. Among the answers, 10 emotional responses emerged, namely: Safe, Worried, Hopeful, Bored, Concerned for Others, Helpless, Relaxed, Thankful, Sad and Stressed."This implies the 'altruistic' predisposition of the respondents towards family members and loved ones, which are currently not with them physically. It may likewise be directed towards those in the 'frontline' in our fight against this COVID-19 health crisis ," according to Radio Veritas.
The entire Luzon, home to about half of the country's 100 million people, is under lockdown until April 30 to contain the pandemic. As a result, economic activities have also been limited. As of Sunday, the Philippines has recorded 6,259 cases of the respiratory illness, with 572 recoveries and 409 deaths.
