The arrest of a teen in connection with the alleged theft of a Ferrari Spider and a Lamborghini in Montclair led to search warrants that identified cars stolen in New Jersey, New York and Delaware, police said.

The investigation led to the recovery of vehicles stolen in Toms River, Holmdel and the Morganville section of Marlboro, according to Lt. Terrence Turner, a Montclair police spokesman. Police did not say how many vehicles were recovered. Search warrants also identified that other vehicles were allegedly stolen in Hillside, South Brunswick, Montville, Clifton and Orange, according to Turner. Additional thefts allegedly took place in two towns in New York — Old Westbury and Massapequa — as well as in Wilmington, Delaware, Turner said.The Newark teen and another person damaged the front gate to a property on Club Way in Montclair on Dec. 5, police said.
The pair then entered an unlocked side door to the house and found the keys to a 2018 Ferrari Spider and 2021 Lamborghini Urus, police said. The thieves allegedly opened the garage doors and drove off in the cars. The 15-year-old was arrested by Elizabeth police and charged in Montclair with burglary, criminal mischief, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property after an investigation. He was also found with a handgun, police said.
