Forecasters are calling for mostly cloudy skies in our region.will occur this week, turning the full March moon from white and yellow to reddish orange as it glows in the night sky.and possible patchy fog in the New Jersey region during the peak period of the lunar eclipse. Mostly cloudy skies are also expected in New York City and Philadelphia.
For people in the Eastern time zone, the total lunar eclipse will begin at 2:26 a.m. Friday, March 14 and end at 3:31 a.m. During that time span, the full moon will turn from white and yellow to a reddish-orange color.A partial lunar eclipse will start at 11:57 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, March 13. But the most dramatic portion — when the moon turns totally dark and reddish — will occur between 2:26 a.m. and 3:31 a.m. on Friday, March 14.
