Monkey D. Luffy’s powers worked surprisingly well in live-action, but One Piece season 2 will have to deal with two characters whose abilities will be even more difficult to portray. One of the biggest challenges Netflix’s live-action version of One Piece had to face in the first season was how to portray Luffy’s Devil Fruit abilities. Hollywood never had an easy time with stretchy characters, yet Luffy’s Gum-Gum techniques are an essential part of the story.
