Swedish golfer Ludvig Aberg made his first-ever hole-in-one on the PGA Tour during the third round of the 2025 Genesis Invitational, catapulting him up the leaderboard. The ace on the par-3 3rd hole fueled Aberg's impressive performance, putting him in contention for the title.
Ludvig Aberg continued to make a name for himself this week at the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines. The tournament was relocated to San Diego amid the destruction of the Los Angeles Wildfires.Aberg made a spectacular ace almost at the beginning of his third round of the 2025 Genesis Invitational. It was the first hole-in-one of the Swedish star's PGA Tour career and helped propel him to third place on the leaderboard.
'Hit a little cut pitching wedge up in the wind and landed behind it and came back. It was a really cool moment. I've never made a hole-in-one in tournament play before, so it was a first for sure.'Aberg also gave that shot a lot of credit for his title chances with only 18 holes remaining in the event:'It got me one closer,' he said. 'I like my chances.'After his ace, Aberg birdied the 6th, 8th, 13th and 16th but bogeyed 4,10,12 and 14 for a 2-under round.
