Lucid Motors' Gravity electric SUV will be able to utilize Tesla's Supercharger network, marking a significant step in expanding charging infrastructure accessibility.

Starting January 31st, 2024, Lucid Gravity electric SUV owners will gain access to Tesla's expansive Supercharger network across both the United States and Canada. This seamless integration is made possible because the Gravity comes equipped with a built-in port that supports the North American Charging Standard (NACS), eliminating the need for any adapters to connect to Tesla's Superchargers.

Lucid claims that the Gravity was the first non-Tesla vehicle to be sold with a NACS charging port when the first production models were delivered to customers in December 2024. Currently, only the more expensive $94,900 Grand Touring model is available for purchase. However, the company plans to release the $79,900 Touring model later in 2025. Emad Dlala, Lucid's VP of Powertrain, stated that the automaker developed a 'unique new technology' to ensure the Gravity's full compatibility with chargers rated at both 500V and 1,000V. Specifically, the Lucid Gravity utilizes a 926V charging architecture, meaning charging times will vary depending on the charging station. Dlala explained that this new technology allows the Gravity to 'charge seamlessly at up to 400 kW on 1000V charging equipment and at sustained speeds of up to 225 kW on 500V architecture fast chargers, including Tesla V3 Superchargers.' This means Gravity owners can take advantage of the fastest charging speeds available on Tesla's network. Lucid had previously pledged to support the North American Charging Standard in 2023 and had committed to providing its customers with an adapter for their vehicles. The company has also announced that the Lucid Air, its electric sedan which currently doesn't come with built-in NACS ports, will also gain access to Tesla's Supercharger network sometime during the second quarter of 2024
