Lucid's Gravity SUV will be able to charge at Tesla Superchargers starting January 31, 2025, thanks to its built-in North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.
Starting January 31, 2025, owners of Lucid Gravity electric vehicles will be able to access Tesla's Supercharger network across the US and Canada. This seamless integration is made possible because the Gravity comes standard with a built-in port that supports the North American Charging Standard ( NACS ), eliminating the need for any adapters.
Lucid claims the Gravity was the first non-Tesla vehicle to be sold with a NACS charging port when its first production models were delivered to customers in December 2024. It's important to note that currently only the more expensive $94,900 Grand Touring model is available for purchase. The company plans to release the $79,900 Touring model sometime in late 2025.Emad Dlala, Lucid's VP of Powertrain, stated that the automaker developed a 'new, unique technology' to ensure the Gravity's full compatibility with chargers rated at both 500V and 1,000V. The Lucid Gravity's 926V charging architecture means charging times will vary depending on the charging station it's plugged into. Detailing the technology, Dlala explained that the Gravity can 'charge seamlessly at up to 400 kW on 1000V charging equipment and at sustained speeds of up to 225 kW on 500V architecture fast chargers, including Tesla V3 Superchargers.'Lucid, in its commitment to expanding charging options for its customers, announced in 2023 its support for the North American Charging Standard and pledged to provide an adapter for its vehicles. The company has confirmed that its Lucid Air, the electric sedan currently lacking built-in NACS ports, will also gain access to Tesla's Supercharger network sometime in the second quarter of 2025
