According to the report, Kelly reached what is known as an Employment and License IP agreement with LSU when he signed his 10-year, $95 million contract upon being hired last year. As part of that agreement, Kelly was to receive direct payments to his bank account.
Due to a clerical error, Kelly was paid twice in both May and June 2022. That resulted in an overpayment of $1,001,368 to the first-year coach, which wasn’t detected until November by theLSU will recoup its money, at least eventually. Rather than have Kelly cut a huge check, his salary will be docked slightly each pay period until the full amount is repaid.
