The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored by state meteorologists in the vicinity of Puerto Princesa, Palawan may still turn into a tropical cyclone in the next two days.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the LPA was last spotted at 115 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City. It entered the city's vicinity on Friday morning.
[Translation: For now, we still don't remove the chance of it becoming a tropical cyclone in the next two days as it moves westward towards the West Philippine Sea.] The LPA is forecast to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Palawan and Kalayaan Islands. For the rest of the country, locals may expect partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies and the intertropical convergence zone — where the northeast and the southeast trade winds converge.
