Love Island loses one million viewers for premiere episode of winter series that dipped to 1.4 million, compared to 2.5 for the launch of series 8 in 2022.
For the past three series, the reality show has steadily kept viewers engaged and brought in a live audience of 2.4 to 2.5 million for every launch show for series 6 through to 8, but these latest figures are on par with series 3 in 2015, which pulled in 1.1 million fans.
However, it's worth noting that these figures will likely increase when streaming is included, as it did for theviewers, and final consolidated viewing counts are shared a week after the premiere.
