A men’s domestic abuse charity has expressed concerns of ‘toxic femininity’ in Love Island.
Following the explosive Movie Night episode, which saw airport security officer Shaq, 24, breaking down in Tom Clare’s arms, viewers have questioned the lack of accountability on the women’s side.
, Mankind Initiative wrote: ‘Love Island has once again showed that when it comes to abusive behaviours against partners such as manipulation and gaslighting, it affects men as well as women as victims.’: ‘There is a welfare team solely dedicated to the Islanders both during the show and after and that all of the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the Villa.
