Hurricane watches are in effect for large parts of the Louisiana coast, including Cameron, Louisiana, to the Mississippi-Alabama border, including New Orleans, according to the NHC and “life-threatening” storm surges are also expected in parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Tropical storm watches—less extreme than a hurricane—have also been issued for parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, the NHC said, and tropical storm warnings—a more imminent threat than a watch—have been issued for the Cayman Islands and parts of Cuba.residents to “get your game plan in place” ahead of the severe weather.
