Sam Taylor has delivered a couple of barbs to arch-rivals Sydney as his Giants prepare to swarm the Swans in a highly anticipated Battle of the Bridge this Saturday.
Saturday’s battle at the SCG will see the second-placed Swans combat the third-placed Giants in one of the most tantalising meetings between the NSW clubs in recent memory, with both shaping as formidable flag contenders in 2024.“ keeps building and building, and now that we’re second and third at the moment ... there’s a lot in it,” Taylor said to reporters at a Monday press conference.
“I do respect them, they’re a great team. They have great players and I respect how the players go about it.” “But there is a lot of dislike and once we get on the field, we want to beat them, we want to smack them and come home with the win,” Taylor maintained.The 24-year-old referenced a pre-season meeting between the clubs during which Taylor claimed the Swans were a bit chatty for a meaningless contest.“They’re young, they’re firing, they’re a bit smug. It comes from a bit of that as well. They’re chirpy on the field.
