Moore submitted the application on Monday.
The Board of Police Commissioners will take up Moore's request in closed session, with an opportunity for public comment prior to a decision. Police chiefs can serve a maximum of two five-year terms. "There's no desire on my part to remove the current police chief," Bass said on CBS'"Face the Nation" last month. But Bass added that she would"revisit" Moore's appointment along with"many other general managers."
Another survey, conducted by Loyola Marymount University, on police and community relations released in September had mixed results.
