Davis went through a full live practice for the first time since suffering a right mid-foot sprain Feb. 16 against the"We're at a point now where it's really about how he responds to that and the level of soreness he has coming out of his first live work," Vogel said of Davis.

James did not participate in practice, Vogel said. The Lakers star stayed back at the hotel to undergo treatment on the left ankle sprain he suffered in L.A.'s 116-108 loss to theon Sunday. James was dealing with swelling in the ankle on Monday, the coach said. Vogel said the timing of Davis readying for a return just as James is dealing with another injury that could keep him out of the lineup fits with the"snakebitten" nature of the Lakers' season.

"It's been that type of year," Vogel said."It's one of those things that's out of our control. It's unfortunate.
