Azusa police officers responded around 10 p.m. to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 300 block of North Soldano Avenue in the city of Azusa, where they found the girl suffering from stab wounds, sheriff's officials said.
On Saturday morning, sheriff's officials confirmed the suspected killer was taken into custody. His identity had not been released by sheriff's officials as of 2 p.m. Saturday.No other information have been released by the law enforcement agency, including a suspected motive or details about whether â or how â the suspect and victim may have known each other.The case will be presented to the LA County District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges.
