BREAKING: Lorry engulfed in huge fireball after crash on the M25
The M25 has been closed in both directions after a crash caused a lorry to burst into flames.
Emergency services were called to the incident, on junction six, around 11am this morning. Shocking images from the scene show flames rising off the lorry as it lays on its side in the road. The incident has been classified as serious, Surrey Policing’s Road Policy Unit said. Another car, believed to have a non-UK numberplate, was involved in the collision.
It is not know yet whether anyone has been injured. Motorists in the area have been told to remain in their vehicles.A spokesperson for Surrey Fire and Rescue said: ‘Fire crews from Surrey London Fire Kent Fire Rescue and East Sussex FRS are in attendance on M25, junctionsix to junction seven, dealing with a large vehicle fire. Highways SEAST Surrey Police [are] also in attendance.
