BUKIT MERTAJAM: The 51-year-old trailer driver whose container fell and crushed a motorist has been remanded for four days, as reported by Sin Chew Daily. When the driver was brought to the magistrate's court at about 8.20am on Thursday , he flashed a 'V' sign twice to the waiting reporters.
On Wednesday , 21-year-old Lee Zi Rou was waiting at the Jalan Kebun Sireh-Jalan Bukit Tengah traffic lights when the trailer, approaching from the opposite direction, made a sharp left turn. This reportedly caused the container it was carrying to overbalance, detach, and fall on Lee's car during the 9.15am incident.Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Helmi Aris stated on Wednesday that the driver was detained for further investigation under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
"Preliminary screenings for urine and alcohol were negative, but an application for his remand will be made at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate Court on Thursday," he said.Khazanah will not stop investing in start-ups despite FashionValet issue, says Amir HamzahHome Ministry finalises app for Singapore entry and exit via QR code
