(Reuters) -Advance Auto Parts said on Thursday private equity firm Carlyle Group would buy its Worldpac unit for $1.5 billion in cash, sending its shares about 11% higher in premarket trade.
KULAI: A teenager was killed in a hit-and-run accident when the motorcycle he was riding with another teenager collided with a lorry near here.
He said the 16-year-old victim, a school dropout and the 15-year-old pillion rider, a student, were travelling from Taman Senai Jaya to Taman Desa Idaman Senai when the incident took place. “The lorry driver switched from the left lane to the right lane to make a U-turn, causing the incident,’’ he said in a statement on Thursday.
“The victim was pronounced dead by the paramedic team at the accident scene, and the pillion rider who suffered injuries was sent to Kulai Hospital,’’ he said both of them were wearing crash helmets.
