'Many people' in Lori Loughlin's inner circle are 'angry' at her estranged husband, Mossimo Giannulli, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly
John Stamos stunned fans when he pulled back the curtain on Lori Loughlin's recent separation from Mossimo Giannulli, but he's not the only friend who's seething. 'There are many people in Lori's orbit who are similarly angry at Mossimo,' a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
While appearing on the Monday, October 20, episode of the 'Good Guys' podcast, Stamos, 62, said he knows 'for a fact' that Giannulli, also 62, was to blame for the longtime couple's involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal known as Operation Varsity Blues. 'She goes to f***ing prison for this a**hole,' Stamos fumed, arguing that his former Full House costar, 61, 'didn't deserve to be dragged through that.' The source concurs, telling Us, 'Mossimo did not treat Lori as well as he should have. Her friends feel like he never really accepted responsibility for what he got Lori involved in.'In 2019, Loughlin and Giannulli were arrested on federal fraud charges for paying $500,000 in bribes to get their two daughters, Bella, now 27, and Olivia Jade, now 26, into the University of Southern California as rowing team recruits — despite neither having experience in the sport. Loughlin and Giannulli initially pleaded not guilty before confessing to the crime in 2020. They subsequently spent two and five months, respectively, in prison. The pair put on a united front throughout the case, but earlier this month, news broke that they had separated after nearly 28 years of marriage. 'They are living apart now,' Loughlin's rep said in a statement to Us on October 2. 'There are no legal proceedings underway.' Stamos said on 'Good Guys' that Loughlin is 'devastated' by the split, adding, 'For a girl who has lived her life really well — a good person, a good mother, a good wife, I know all this for a fact — to be thrown into now this separation and, you know, exploding, blowing up her family this way, I just hate to see her go through this. I really do.' An insider confirmed to Us on Thursday, October 23, that Loughlin and Giannulli signed a prenuptial agreement prior to their 1997 wedding that counts their assets as separate property. 'He is still worth a lot of money,' the insider said of the fashion designer, 'and the prenup does not benefit her.' The insider also shared that Loughlin and Giannulli have each retained lawyers and are 'moving toward divorce proceedings,' though they have yet to file paperwork. The duo are currently in the process of selling their home in Hidden Hills, California. After being listed for $16.5 million in February, the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion is now under contract for $14.95 million. This was the second marriage for both Loughlin and Giannulli. The actress was previously married to Lionsgate Studios executive Michael Burns from 1989 to 1996 while the Mossimo founder has a son, Gianni, 34, with his first wife, Christine Giannulli.
