After serving a prison sentence for her involvement in the college admissions scandal, Lori Loughlin is back on television with a starring role in the new procedural drama 'On Call'. She discusses her experience filming the series and the challenges of playing a law enforcement officer.

Lori Loughlin is sharing insight into her latest acting gig. The 60-year-old actress has landed her first starring role in a TV series since spending two months in prison in 2020 for her involvement in the college admissions scandal. The Full House alum will portray law enforcement officer Lieutenant Bishop in the upcoming procedural drama On Call .

On Thursday, December 19, Loughlin spoke to E! News about her experience filming On Call — which also stars Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars, Brandon Larracuente from 13 Reasons Why, and ER alum Eriq La Salle. Loughlin said it 'felt great' to be back on a TV series. 'It really was so empowering and so different,' Loughlin told the outlet. 'I just enjoyed being on set watching work, standing back and watching them set up shots and seeing how they were using the body cam and the dash cam and the drones.' Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli — who share daughters Bella Rose, 26, and Olivia Jade, 25 — were indicted for fraud and bribery in the 2019 college admissions scandal, during which multiple stars falsified information to get their children into universities. In 2020, Loughlin pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and spent two months in prison. Today, the When Calls the Heart alum is happy — if a bit nervous — to dive into her new role. She described the project as 'quite a beautiful production' but noted she was 'apprehensive' when stepping into her character. 'The challenge out of the gate was playing a role that was unfamiliar and tapping into parts of me that existed but not necessarily the way I would approach life,' she explained. Loughlin attributed her success in navigating her character to La Salle, who worked as a director and executive producer on the project
