The video of Lightfoot dancing in the street has begun to circulate online and has so far been viewed more than 50,000 times.
The ChicagoDepartment has highlighted an increase in overall crime in the city in 2023 for the week January 16 to January 22 compared to 2022.
Each of these recorded stats is higher compared to the same time last year according to the police department. In 2022 a total of 3013 crimes were committed compared with 2023's 4844.
