Lorain will rejoin Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights, which also left the Lake Erie League for the GCC.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Greater Cleveland Conference sought an eight school since Solon left last year for the Suburban League, and the GCC has found it in Lorain.
Those schools include Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights, which are finishing their first year as full-time members after also leaving the LEL, to join charter members Brunswick, Euclid, Medina, Mentor and Strongsville. When Cleveland Heights and Shaker joined the GCC last year, it left Lorain as the only Division I school across all sports in the LEL. Membership in that league includes Bedford, Garfield Heights, Maple Heights, Shaw and Warrensville Heights.
