Stopping Oregon’s prolific offense isn’t easy. The Ducks were finalists for the Joe Moore Award, given to the most outstanding offensive line in college football. Gabriel finished third in Heisman voting and rarely misses big play opportunities. You could argue the best WR corps in the nation resides in Eugene, as Tez Johnson, Evan Stewart and Traeshon Holden each have 600+ yards. Then, there’s RB Jordan James, who has the third-most rushing yards and second-most rushing touchdowns in the Big Ten.
Slowing the Ducks down isn’t easy, but getting in a track meet with Oregon isn’t a winning formula. Ohio State’s defense will need to step up. Outside of the Oregon game, the Buckeyes have been rock solid. OSU allows the fewest points per game in FBS, and the Ducks were the only team that scored more than 17 points against Ohio State.Oregon versus Ohio State isn’t the only hypothetical CFP game you can wager on before round one begins on Friday night.
