BASILAN- Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman led on Thursday night the ceremonial switch on of Ramadan Mubarak lights.

Council of Elders of the Basilan Supreme Council declared that the Ramadan will officially begin tomorrow, April 24.

City and provincial officials who witnessed the switch on at Isabela City Plaza and at the city hall strictly observed physical distancing. But as tarawee prayer inside mosque is not allowed due to coronavirus pandemic, Turabin called on the public to convert their respective houses as places of worship.

"Let us make our homes, every home, every Muslim home, a place of worship this Ramadan. Let us make every family, a congregation of faithful believer," she said.
