Long delays on A56 Accrington Bypass after car fire as motorists advised to avoid area
There are long delays on A56 Accrington Bypass due to a car fire. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area where possible.
As a result of a closure from Rising Bridge, there are long delays on the southbound carriageway. Both lanes were closed but lane two has since been reopened. It is not known how long the disruption will continue but police are advising drivers to use alternative routes where possible.A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Please be aware of long delays on the A56 southbound due to a closure from Rising Bridge following a vehicle fire. Lane 2 has now been reopened, however lane 1 is still closed.
