Kerry-Anne Donaldson, 26, said she became addicted to the high of NOS A woman left paralysed and in a wheelchair after taking 600 cannisters of laughing gas a week has welcomed it being made illegal next month. Kerry-Anne Donaldson, 26, from Newham, London, became addicted to the high of NOS at parties at the age of 18. By the age of 21 her legs and feet went numb and she ended up in a wheelchair.
Some people inhale the NOS straight from the cannister but this is extremely dangerous. The desired effect is to feel giggly, relaxed, euphoric and distort reality. It can also make people feel anxious, paranoid and dizzy. The effects only last for about two minutes. The gas works by temporarily preventing oxygen from reaching the blood.
