BREAKING: London’s Oxford Street and Soho sealed off after gas leak.

A large stretch ofPeople were evacuated from Soho’s Poland Street and surrounding buildings at around 2pm while specialist engineers rushed to make the area safe.

Several roads surrounding the busiest part of the district have been cordoned off including Oxford Street, Great Marlborough Street and Wardour Street.It was not immediately clear which building was the source of the leak.A statement from the Metropolitan Police: ‘Police are assisting following a gas leak. Officers were called at 13:05hrs on Monday, 4 April in the Poland Street area, in Westminster to a report of a gas leak.
