Nature, the world’s most authoritative science journal, is looking for an ambitious, highly motivated journalist to contribute to our award-winning coverage of scientific research and policy.
The successful applicant will be skilled at writing fast turn-around news stories, as well as cultivating sources, digging up scoops and diving into in-depth features. Reporting to the UK news editor, you will be part of a highly collaborative global team of science journalists that invests time in editing, sub-editing and fact-checking. You will work on a dedicated beat that will be chosen based on your reporting expertise and the needs of our team, generating stories that are published online and in print.
We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with an interest in and/or experience of reporting UK or European science policy and issues relevant to working scientists .University degree in a relevant subject and a knowledge of journalism values. Enthusiasm for, and basic fluency in science topics and the ‘community’ issues that affect working scientists. Ability to identify and generate news and feature stories of interest to Nature’s readers.
