DBKL has taken immediate measures to install a temporary wall at one of the units of the Loke Yew public housing flats.
“A temporary wall was fixed in the meantime before a permanent wall is installed soon,” it said in a statement today .
In October 2014, strong winds ripped the wooden walls of three Loke Yew PPA units located on the 10th, 13th and 18th floors. There were no casualties. DBKL added that four units at the Seri Johor public housing were affected when the block’s roofs were blown off yesterday. “Canvas have been placed as a temporary measure, while the units’ electricity supply is cut off for safety reasons.
“The occupants are staying with their relatives nearby and no relief centres have been opened at this time.”
