The Giants led the entire game until Webb allowed a two-run, go-ahead homer to Jorge Soler in the 7th inning.

MIAMI — Haunted by left-handers all season, the Giants finally got to one Monday. They opened an early lead against the Marlins and Jesus Luzardo, and they had their ace, Logan Webb, on the mound to protect the lead. In a tough-luck seventh inning, it crumbled away.

In his first four starts, Webb is 0-4 with a 4.94 ERA. It is the first time in his career he has lost four consecutive decisions. The first two batters of the inning reached base on an infield single and another dribbler that left the bat at 57 mph and snuck past third baseman J.D. Davis, who was shifted away from the foul line. Clinging to a one-run lead with runners on the corners and no outs, Webb needed to induce the perfect ground ball, and he did exactly that. A double-play grounder erased the runner on first, and was hit softly enough for Brandon Crawford to check the runner back to third.
