Hunters star Logan Lerman shares his honest thoughts on fans casting him as Poseidon in the upcoming PercyJackson and the Olympians Disney+ show: 'No one's hit me up about it, and I don't think I'm right for that anyways.'
Logan Lerman shares his thoughts on the fan-fueled idea of him playing Poseidon in the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians reboot series on Disney+. Lerman appeared as the titular character in two Percy Jackson movies released in the 2010s. Since his departure from the franchise, he has appeared in several critically-acclaimed films, including 2014's Fury and 2022's Bullet Train. He now stars as Jonah Heidelbaum in the Prime Video drama series Hunters opposite Al Pacino.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an interview with Esquire, Lerman responds to calls for him to return to the Percy Jackson franchise on Disney+ in the role of Poseidon. Ever since the series was first announced, fans have been enamored with the idea of Lerman graduating from the role of Percy to that of his godly parent. However, Lerman isn't too interested in the idea.
"Oh, no. No one's hit me up about it, and I don't think I'm right for that anyways. But I also just don't even know if it's interesting to me, in terms of: I don't even know what that would be. But there's not a secret that's waiting to be announced or something like that. I do get asked a lot about it, and I hate to disappoint and be like, no, I don't know anything, and I'm not involved, but that's the truth. I don't know anything about it.
Apollo is an obvious choice. It's fairly easy to envision Lerman bringing the god of the sun and prophecy to life, particularly since the Percy Jackson series often depicts him as a younger man. Lerman joining the Disney+ show as Apollo could be a nice homage to the film adaptation, and bringing him back would also be a fun way of highlighting how far the property has come over the last 15 years.
