Locsin orders DFA to find OFW missing since last year

This was how Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. wants his department to act on the case of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who has been reported missing since December 2021.

The missing Filipino worker was reportedly not in contact with his family in Palawan since early December last year. This prompted his family to report the case to authorities.

It was disclosed that the OFW, identified as Joel Tambal, 30, left for Korea last year but he together with two other workers from Palawan were deployed to a Chinese fishing vessel instead of being emplyed by a Korean firm. The recruitment agency that hired Tambal was also suspended due to various labor violations, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration confirmed.
