Tornado hits Two Wishes Ranch in Lockhart, TX, causing severe damage and power outages; no injuries.
Roundtable discussion on how hate groups have taken to online platforms to gather, recruit, plan, and incite attacks on Jewish communities.The Two Wishes Ranch in Lockhart, Texas, suffered moderate to severe damage after a tornado touched down just after 8 a.m. on Thursday, causing roof loss, power outages, and structural damage; no injuries were reported.
Property owners told CBS Austin that a home built in the early 1920's sat at the entrance of the ranch. The roof was completely blown off by the strong gusts of the storm, sending insulation into the street and nearby trees. Ranch foreman Pedro Hernandez said cleanup efforts had to get underway quickly because of the safety risks posed to people in the area. "We have a crew coming already and we have some of the ranch guys already coming out here to start helping us with the cleanup and trying to put it back together. I mean, we weren't expecting this today but it's got to be done," he said.
Electric crews were also on site trying to restore power lines at the property. "One of those wires, it came off so were not sure if it just got knocked off during the wind or what happened, but yeah, we have no power here," said Hernandez. The tornado also blew out windows at the ranch and tore down some gates that surround the property. Property owners said no one was hurt.CBS Austin spoke to experts who said in this situation, the best thing to do to protect yourself is take cover and stay sheltered.
