Lockdown death: Family sues for R2m

The family of Sibusiso Amos, the 40-year-old man from Vosloorus who was shot and killed in his home in April last year at the height of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions during a police operation, is appalled by the lack of support from the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality and the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department , following the incident.

Ntombi Amos, a cousin of the deceased, told City Press that, more than a year since the fatal shooting, neither the municipality nor the EMPD had contacted the family, leading them to take legal action against both state organs.
