Mifflin county has plenty of farms-- and is home to multiple industries- but now something new could be moving in, and not everyone is on board.

Granville Township is just 40 square miles wide, but now some of that land could be home to a data center. Corri Hockenberry has been living in Granville her whole life, but she said if a data center comes, she's moving.

"I was born here. I've lived here most of my life. But who could listen to that? Who could absolutely listen to that?

"A data center in Granville would be the first in Mifflin County. Mifflin county commissioner Kevin Kodish said he wants people to be educated on what it would mean for the county.

"I think some people will support it once they hear all the information. Some people will," Kodish said. A private company reached out about its intentions to buy local farmland for the data center, but said the details are limited so far.

"As far as taxes, the township would benefit from tax, real estate tax, income from a data center in the county would as well," Kodish said. "What are our environmental concerns? Will there be what will affect our private well water, how much water will consume and where is it coming from? What effects will would have on our utility bills, power and water...

" local resident Nate Fisher said, reading a list of questions off of his phone. "If you like hunting, if you like fishing-- forget about it. The noise is going to be insane," Hockenberry said. Kodish said the commissioners would be on board if "it's under the right circumstances.

But again, we want to know, do we want to we want to have the information that's available. We wouldn't want something that's going to be detrimental.

"He said Granville Township is working on putting together a forum in June with officials and the private company so locals can ask those pressing questions. Pennsylvania Capitol police coordinated a multi-agency DUI checkpoint in Harrisburg over the weekend that ended with 13 arrests being made, police data shows. A powerful fire in York County left more than a dozen people displaced and some of them hurt after ripping through multiple homes.

A vehicle smashed through a business in Mechanicsburg Thursday afternoon, leaving the car inside an office scattered with glass and debris. The identity of the person whose remains were found in the woods in Hanover Borough has been identified as a man who has been missing since June 2025. Police are searching for a male who they say stole from vehicles and entered a person's home in Lower Swatara Township earlier this week.
