A daily look at athletes from San Diego County competing at this summer’s Olympics:Chula Vista-based Jennifer Mucino-Fernandez lost 6-2 to Mexico’s Alejandra Valencia and was eliminated from the individual competition.Kelsey Plum had two points in 12 minutes for the U.S. women in an 87-74 win against Belgium in group play.Megan Valzonis and the U.S. women lost 5-2 to Great Britain and are now 0-3-1 in group play.

Tatiana Webb-Weston of Brazil beat Caitlin Simmers in their third-round heat, 12.34 to 1.93.and partner Tommy Paul advanced to the doubles semifinals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Andy Murray and Daniel Evans of Great Britain.Alex Bowen had two goals in a 13-11 loss against Greece that dropped the U.S. men to 1-2 in group play.Chase Budinger and partner Miles Evans face Adrian Gavira and Pablo Herrera of Spain.Golf:Azja Czajkowski and partner Jess Thoennes are in the final of women’s pairs.
