With frigid temperatures expected, warming centers are opening in Montgomery and Elmore counties.In accordance with the City of Montgomery and the Emergency Management Agency’s cold weather plan , on Sunday, December 14, from 7:00PM to Monday, December 15, at 7:00AM, Montgomery will activate its Warming Center, located at The Crump Center .
Residents in need of shelter are welcomed during these times. No pets allowed inside the warming center. Monday and Tuesday, December 15-16, the M Transit System, Route 8 bus is scheduled to arrive and depart from the Crump Senior Center at the following times:— Monday morning, December 15, the M Transit Route 8 bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center at 5:30 AM and arrive at the Crump Senior Center at about 5:45AM — Monday morning, December 15, the M Transit Route 8 bus will return to the Crump Senior Center at about 6:30 AM and arrive at the Downtown Intermodal Center at 6:45AM — Monday morning, December 15, the M Transit Route 8 bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center at 7:00 AM and arrive at the Crump Senior Center at about 7:15AM— Monday evening, December 15, the M Transit Route 8 bus will return to the Crump Senior Center at about 6:45PMand arrive at the Downtown Intermodal Center at 7:00PM — Monday evening, December 15, the M Transit Route 8 bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center at 7:00 PM and arrive at the Crump Senior Center at about 7:15 PM.— Tuesday morning, December 16, 2025, the M Transit Route 8 bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center at 5:30 AM and arrive at the Crump Senior Center at about 5:45AM — Tuesday morning, December 16, the M Transit Route 8 bus will return to the Crump Senior Center at about 6:30 AM and arrive at the Downtown Intermodal Center at 6:45AM — Tuesday morning, December 16, the M Transit Route 8 bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center at 7:00 AM and arrive at the Crump Senior Center at about 7:15AM.Due to the overnight forecast for extreme cold wind chill temperature, Elmore County has activated the Safer Places program as Warming Stations.
