MFRD is reminding boaters to exercise caution when entering the waters during inclement weather.
Mobile Fire-Rescue says they received a call for two stranded boaters off Polcat Bay. The rain was coming down in sheets, and the waters were rough.
Jackson says the boaters had some safety measures in place, like plastic pouches for their cell phones. Jackson says the two boaters were also wearing lifejackets. Daphne Search and Rescue says they utilized a shallow water vessel equipped with a specialized motor capable of running in just inches of water or wet mud which proved to be a valuable asset in the inclement weather.
