A six-year-old boy in Cedar Park, Texas, found a missing autistic child during a neighborhood search. The young boy, along with his father, located the missing child in the woods and helped him to safety. The Cedar Park Police Department recognized the boy for his bravery.
When dozens of neighbors and officers fanned out across a Cedar Park neighborhood last Friday searching for a missing 6-year-old boy with autism, it was another 6-year-old who found him. Maxwell Scheider and his father were walking home from a school dance when they heard faint noises coming from nearby woods.
The pair went to investigate and discovered the missing boy, William, alone inside the tree line. Max approached the boy and spoke to him, helping him feel safe enough to come out of the woods on his own, according to the Cedar Park Police Department.
