That means Cleveland-area subscribers can still watch network favorites such as “NCIS,” “FBI” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Local viewers, however, don’t have access to locally produced programs like Cleveland 19 News or “Cribbs in the CLE,” or syndicated shows that air on Ch. 19 such as “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune.
CBS affiliates owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Nexstar Media Group, Gray Television, E.W. Scripps Co., Tegna, Hearst Television and Cox Media Group were among those to opt out of that deal,At Paramount-owned CBS, carriage fees -- the amount live TV providers like Fubo pay networks and station owners to carry their channels -- are negotiated at the network level.
CBS said it had given the affiliate owner groups “a fair opportunity” to remain on FuboTV with a variety of options including continuing under the terms of the existing contract. “Unfortunately and inexplicably, the Board did not endorse any of our multiple solutions,” the network said. “We are committed to working in good faith, and we hope the Affiliate Board will reconsider the opportunity on behalf of its CBS affiliates.”
There’s no indication of how long the impasse will last. But it’s worth keeping an eye on should it drag on. WOIO airs most Cleveland Browns games during the regular season. Local viewers can still access the station using an over-the-air antenna. Or live TV streaming alternatives to FuboTV that carry Ch. 19 include
