Local basketball team wins 10U girls state title
) - Bush Park Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club 10U Lady Bengals basketball team capped off their undefeated season with a state championship.
None of the girls on the team are from the same school, but they have built a special bond here while playing together and they share the love of the game so much, they never want to get off the court. Carlis Timmons spearheaded the program, putting together the first team back in 1994 and their numbers have steadily grown. She wanted to give little girls in the community a chance to play the game of basketball, just like she did growing up.
The Lady Bengals are a tough team of girls even at the age of ten and they get a little rough on the court, playing through busted lips and black eyes believe it or not. Kacee Thomas is one of those determined players on the team, who opponents underestimated because of her size but she has a message for all fox10 viewers.
