State authorities are investigating a shooting that left a teen dead and another injured.
NOTASULGA, Ala. - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has launched an investigation at the request of the Notasulga Police Department after a teen was found dead and another was injured Thursday night.
Troopers said the incident happened in the 100 block of Union Camp Road, where a 16-year-old was found dead on the scene. A 17-year-old was also injured and taken to a local hospital, according to ALEA. The incident stemmed from a shooting in Macon County’s jurisdiction of the town, according to Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones, who confirmed that both victims were students of Loachapoka High School. Authorities have not released their identities.
