Just a week after the songstress uploaded a video on Twitter singing 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' decked in the villain's full costume, one fan decided to make a Change.org petition to ensure Lizzo gets the role she deserves.
"In the most self-aware statement that anyone has ever made, Lizzo has gone on record to say that Ursula would be her dream role," the petition, which currently is almost at its 1000 signature goal, reads. "Lizzo is a big grrrrl with the rising star power and the sheer vocal ability that make her the perfect Ursula casting decision. Truth Hurts, and Disney seriously needs to rethink this casting.
Lizzo has already responded to the petition, writing a simple "Omg" alongside an octopus and mermaid emoji. See below.
