Ms Truss has not been seen in public since she gave a brief press conference on Friday - amid suggestions that Mr Hunt is now in the driving seat of Government
leadership bid, served as the public face of the Government in the media on Saturday and Sunday as he sets to work dismantling Mr Kwarteng’s “mini-Budget”.on Sunday, where he is expected to lay out his demands for plugging the hole in the nation’s public finances, including likely tax rises and spending cuts.
Asked if that is really the case as the Government ditches “the entire thrust” of her economic policy agenda, he responded: “Yeah. I think it’s important when you talk about ditching things, the biggest element of that mini-Budget was the energy price guarantee.”
