The conservative Republican reportedly made overtures to Democrats in Wyoming in an effort to secure their votes in the primary election.

It is the first independent, public in-state poll to be conducted during the primary campaign, according to theCheney's attempts to get Democrats in Wyoming to support her in the Republican primary do not appear to be yielding significant results, in large part because of the small number of Democrats in the state.

Wyoming allows voters to change their party registration by mail up to 14 days before the primary and at the polling station on the day. Cheney has reportedly made overtures to Democrats and her campaign website features instructions for voters about changing their party affiliation.reported in late June that Cheney's campaign had been sending mailers to Wyoming Democrats with information about the Republican primary.

Rep. Liz Cheney , Vice Chairwoman of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol, delivers remarks during the fourth hearing by the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol in the Cannon House Office Building on June 21, 2022 in Washington, DC. A new poll shows Cheney far behind her Trump-endorsed rival in the Wyoming Republican primary.

Nancy Donovan, a retired Wall Street banker and former donor to Cheney who has given her campaigns more than $35,000,"I sit there watching the January 6 hearings and I think: 'Have you lost your mind?'" Donovan told the newspaper.that Cheney"has broken a lot of people's trust and that is against the cowboy code."

Wyoming is known as the cowboy state and Cheney appears on track for defeat there. If Hageman wins the Republican nomination, she is virtually guaranteed to be elected to the House in November.
