Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize is in the Eastern Cape and will be visiting various health facilities.
The COVID-19 crisis has brought into sharp focus the work of nurses worldwide.May 12 is International Nurses Day and while there are many who sacrifice for our health and safety, their protection is being compromised.In the Eastern Cape, there have been protests at various clinics over shortages of Personal Protective Equipment.Mkhize, Deputy Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla, together with MECs for Health in all nine provinces will hold a special candlelight ceremony for all nurses in the country.
